The bit about the "bravery and gallantry of the natives" is POV; a more objective tone would be more appropriate. RussBlau 20:13, May 20, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sulaiman III? Or Soliman, or Sulayman, or Soliman III or Sulayman III?

Okay, let's figure this one out. Quite aside from the issue of whether he's "III" or not, we should figure out if we should name him Sulaiman, Soliman, or Sulayman - the choice of spelling seems arbitrary. I'd also like to hear others' thoughts as to the matter of "III", which is supported by the Lakandula Papers of the National Museum as well as the Sulu genealogies, but which to my knowledge has not yet made it to orthodox textbooks. -- Alternativity (talk) 08:17, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Alright, with no responses here, here's what I've discovered using Google Hits as of today, 23 May 2011:
*"Rajah Sulayman" - 26,800
*"Rajah Solaiman" - 23,800
*"Rajah Soliman" - 23,600
*"Rajah Sulaiman" - 19,500
*"Rajah Suleiman" - 6,260
*"Rajah Soleiman" - 54
As a result, I'm moving this article to Rajah Sulayman shortly. FYI. - Alternativity (talk) 12:59, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Rehabilitation

I've only now realized how much damage user:Orsahnses did to this page, his first edits as $antander being mild and somewhat reasonable, and his later edits as Isahries downright destructive. As such, I've decided to try to rehabilitate the page, starting by reexamining the page in light of the last edit by user:Davecrosby uk, 30 October 2008, before the first $antander edit. I will try to incorporate GOOD changes in the article since then, but please bear with me, I'm going to have to weed through three years of vandalism to get the page up to a decent quality again. I will be posting regular reports here (I will also be proceeding slowly). Feel free to comment. :D Thanks! :D

[edit] Actions taken:

  1. - 23 May 2011 - Moved back to "Rajah Sulayman", from "Rajah Suleiman III", Sulayman having been proven via google hits to be the more common term. (See above for further explanation, re: google hits). - Alternativity (talk) 08:26, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
  2. - 24 May 2011 - Returned headings, using pre-vandalism edits as a reference. Returned full list of "See Also" links, as per pre-vandalism versions.
