Talk:Reflux oesophagitis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Is this a more or less severe condition than acid reflux, or the same thing? --KQ
It is not quite the same thing. Reflux is a natural thing that occurs in healthy people to some small degree and often in response to a large meal or other transient causes. Reflux oesophagitis refers to the chronic recurrence of reflux and is a common problem / disease occuring in many adults. There were incorrect references on the main page to Barret's disease being the same thing as Gasto Esophogeal Reflux Disease (GERD) which is incorrect.
The article on acid reflux symptoms mentions this fact as well.
