[edit] Romper Room Murder?
I seem to recall that one of the hostesses from the Pittsburgh Romper Room was murdered - but I can't find anything about it on the internet. Is anyone aware of any info on this? Jeannedb 15:47, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Three controversial events?
The Controversy section opens with the phrase "Three controversial events were connected with Romper Room:" but only two are cited. In checking the history, I can't see any third one being recently chopped out, so I'm correcting it. If anyone disagrees, please let me know. --KNHaw 22:59, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mugging, Not Murder
Link to TVAcres.com [1] Scroll down the page to find a list of all the hostesses, the one from Pittsburgh even has a link to her current website - so your recollection of her being murdered is inaccurate. Perhaps you were remembering that L.A. Romper Room hostess Mary Ann King was mugged in a parking in December, 2003. She was 70 at the time, and sustained a broken arm, rib and punctured lung, plus the thieves stole a bag that contained the original Magic Mirror used on the Romper Room program.

- I'm not sure which is more disturbing, the fact that the media (and you, nothing personal BTW) made mention of the mirror prop as if it were really magical in some way, or the fact she carried it around with her after all those years. (LOL- It should be under 24 hour armed guard! I've wanted it ever since being on a Romper Room epidode in 1966! Now I'll never have it!) Batvette (talk) 10:18, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:V74361i4jrh.jpg
Image:V74361i4jrh.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] She was right!
Upon completion, it was confirmed that the fetus had no legs and only one arm.
Oh snap! 71.245.207.196 (talk) 14:05, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
I know two guys with one arm (each) whose mothers took Thalidomide. While I'm pretty sure they are not happy with the effects the drug had upon their lives, I am quite positive they are as happy to awake every morning to see the sun rise for another day on this earth as you or I. (this is not an anti-abortion message, just a reminder there are a lot of people out there who make do with not being born perfect and might be offended by that comment, as it implies society would wish they'd had never been born)Batvette (talk) 06:39, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
I still think it's better to do what she did then to give birth to someone who just has to suffer even more than a non-disabled person does in today's world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.29.211.18 (talk) 05:35, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Children's parents on Romper Room
My mom appeared on a few episodes. She was the one in the yellow dress. Did you appear on a few episodes as well? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.60.79.4 (talk) 01:08, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
[edit] No on-stage Mister Do-Bee, Mister Music in 1960's/1970's New York shows
The first time I saw "Mister Do-Bee" as anything other than a static cartoon-character bumblebee was in one of the revamped shows of the 1980's. At that time, "Mister Music" had become an on-stage pianist rather than music (live or recorded?) from offstage. In the revamped shows, the old, familiar songs (such as "Bend and Stretch", "Punch a Ball", "Come With Us and Gallop", and "Funny Mister Punching Clown") were scrapped, along with the activities they accompanied, and I don't recall seeing any of the prerecorded short films that were bookmarked by the galloping-horse (sorry, forgot the exact name of the toy) exercise segments. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.46.150.204 (talk) 18:12, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
