[edit] Disambiguation
I am beginning disambiguation of this page, i.e. changing all the links that point here to point to their relevant, specific article - see disambiguation link repair (You can help!)
If you are about to start dab'ing too, please let me know and we can avoid constant edit conflicts!
It's already looking like the page Saxon should belong to Saxon people, and this page should be moved to Saxon (disambiguation), but I'll move it after fixing the next 200 or so links, when I'm sure.

- Changed my mind over using Saxon people as the main page - it's too much of an even toss-up between Saxon people and Anglo-Saxons ~ Veledan | Talk | c. 18:33, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Tidying up
This page has ballooned a bit like most DAB pages do over time. I'm pruning it down in line with Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages):
- Reordering page in general order of frequency of the disambiguated meanings
- Removing redlinks for unlikely articles
- Removing couple of linked terms/names unlikely to be confused with the single word Saxon. Some of these could possibly be used in a See also section although I don't think they're needed
- Removing all information not needed for disambiguation
- Un-linking all words that do not disambiguate Saxon
- Removing final punctuation from dab list items
- Removing unnecessary pipings in favour of just linking the article name
- Using [[Link]], explanation format instead of [[Link]] (explanation) consistently
Saxon is one of the DAB pages I keep an eye on and repair links to regularly. If anyone disagrees with any of my edits, feel free to restore any item but please leave me a note here to let me know why. ~ Veledan • Talk 18:25, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] R to plural
Added R to plural template to redirect to primary topic "Saxons". --Funandtrvl (talk) 23:04, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Sassenach should not be merged.
It is not used to refer to Saxons. It is used to refer to anyone who was non-gaelic, including Byrthonic Picts from the Scottish lowlands. It is a concept of high importance. I was unable to vote on the nomination, but would have voted Keep. Ollie Garkey (talk) 05:28, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
