[edit] Film within the film
During the film, the village watches an "old Bollywood film" at the open-air cinema. I assume this was a parody rather than a real film, but I missed most of this scene when I saw Swades and don't have the DVD. Can someone explain this a little? Perhaps it should be mentioned in the synopsis. ProhibitOnions 10:05, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
- That was Yaadon ki Baarat, in which Aamir Khan appears as a little boy who raises one finger as a sign that he needs to go to the bathroom and "Number One". His first film appearance, as a child artiste. I couldn't help but feel that the director was poking a bit of fun at his former collaborator on Lagaan. Zora 10:13, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

- Makes sense! Thanks, Zora! Would you like to add this to the article? It's quite an interesting detail. Regards, ProhibitOnions 11:27, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Budget confusion
In the info box it says the film's budget is rs20,000,000(2 Crores) which i doubt. Such long movie with star cast made in 2 crores? and if it is right then the conversion in dollars is wrong. It says rs 20,000,000 = $5,000,000. I wished someone who knows good sources for movie budgets would verify it. If no, then may be i will try to find some source. Thank you. - I've added references. Thanks for pointing out. ---Managerarc™ talk 22:33, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
- Mohan Bhargava Shahrukh is a bright, young, India-born scientist working in NASA as the project manager on a rainfall monitoring satellite known as The Global Precipitation Measurement or GPM. (It is in reality a NASA mission expected to be launched in 2007).
- Aamir Khan, director Ashutosh Gowariker's star from his previous movie Lagaan has a cameo appearance: at one point, a clip from the movie Yaadon Ki Baaraat is shown; one of the child artists is eight-year-old Aamir Khan.
- This is the first Indian film to be filmed at NASA.
- It is also one of the Top Ten Longest Duration Films in Bollywood as of Feb 27, 2007.
