Does anyone have references to the use of the delphi method in strategy development? Thanks - --Dan 15:24, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Technology strategy is not just about information technology

This article sets out a good discussion on information technology strategy, but not on technology strategy. Technology strategy is about the mechanisms that an organisation will use to identify, develop/acquire and deploy the technologies required to sustain its business going forward. For example, a semiconductor company's technology strategy may be focused on developments which will enable lower-power operation; a cleaning products company may focus itself on 'greener' production methods and more effective surfactants.

Why does this subject matter even belong in Wikipedia? Isn't it more suited for a B-School text rather than an encyclopedia?

I agree. This article should be renamed "Information Technology Strategy" and be a chapter of "Technology Strategy" that includes for example the energy sector and the nanotech sector. Alexziller 20:28, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Concurrent with the above opinions, there is a need to create a blueprint for technology strategy as the main article. This main article should include how biotech and biopharma companies chalk their technology strategies, for example; it should also include the technology strategies of semi-conductor and high-tech companies, who need to craft and recraft their strategies frequently. IT strategy, as described in this article, can be a subset of this main article. Sam 18:00, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tone of Voice

Under Assumptions, the sentence beginning "If your organization..." isn't a good voice for an encyclopedia. The audience of the article should be the layman. It's not a how-to article for corporate CIOs.
