[edit] Samhain
Samhain appeared in the theme song for Extreme Ghostbusters, but was not featured in any episodes. Due to the character's likeness being owned by Columbia Pictures Television, his appearance was altered.
This blurb makes no sense. According the Columbia Pictures Television article , the company has been a Sony company since 1989. As a result, Sony would have owned the copyrighted characters of this show and should have had no problem in re-using the character designs. --Jtalledo (talk) 00:59, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Unaired episodes
How did someone get this information about unaired episodes on the upcomming DVD? Egon Eagle (talk) 23:12, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Straczynski?
I find it interesting that the same user who removed the link explaining who Straczynski was, later (a few days) edited the other reference to him asking who he was!
The earlier version of the article (feb14 or so) seemed to have alot more information, and whilst true that was unreferenced, perhaps some finding-of-references are in order, instead of just removal of information? He was previously listed as head writer and editor, can this be confirmed? I think it's relevant given his subsequent importance as a Hollywood writer (both TV and now movies) --.../Nemo (talk • Contributions) 04:36, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- The information was OR, obviously NPOV/fan written, and completely unsourced. Much of it was also copy/pasted from fansites, making it WP:COPYVIO as well as failing WP:V. Hence its removal. As far as Wikipedia is concerned, it wasn't valid information. I didn't realize I'd taken out his full name while cleaning out much of that mess, minor oversight. References are needed, greatly. Some will be added from the DVD set, and others need to come from real world sources. Plenty of valid, reliable sources covering this topic that can be used without the fan stuff. Sometimes, to get an article going towards a good shape, you first have to nearly stubify it. I left in quite a lot of unsourced, but more plausible info that wasn't personal opinions or copied from other sites. Sourcing can start there, as well as just what can easily be found online, in books, etc. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 04:44, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

- Thanks for heads up... I wasn't meaning it as a personal attack on your edits. I have been frustrated in the past when valid information is nuked, and the trivial matter of JMS' reference bugged me more than it should have! Keep up the good work AnmaFinotera :) --.../Nemo (talk • Contributions) 05:00, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

- No offense taken. Just wanted to explain in detail, since I'm sure others may ask as well. :) I do have the full set, so I hope to spend some time expanding out the info with the many many wonderful extras from there (love that set!), to replace the info with even better stuff. Just don't have as much time right now because I have an FAC in progress and am working on prepping a list for FLC. Hope to work it some this weekend though. :) -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 05:04, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] 147 episodes?
How is it possible? If you count all episodes in List of The Real Ghostbusters episodes there is only 140. Egon Eagle (talk) 21:57, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- That episode list is not very good. The official box set says it contains 147 episodes. That is a reliable source, not IMDB and not another Wiki article. Looking at the set's booklet, 134 episodes of The Real Ghostbusters under the original episode numbers, 13 episodes of the Slimer episodes = 147. 147 is the correct count, unless consensus is to not include Slimer in the main count, in which case it is 134 episodes. I'm gonna spend time now fixing that episode list to make it accurate, at least #s, title wise. The list in the set doesn't include the actual airdates, just years. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 23:16, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

- OK, but woldn't we tell to the other users in other languages articles? I edit Swedish Wikipedia and trying to update information about this cartoon. Egon Eagle (talk) 17:38, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

- The same, I'd guess: they consider the series to officially have 147 episodes, of which 13 are episodes from the Slimer subseries. I plan to add in the list of Slimer eps to the main list tonight. Just ran out of steam last night. Its hard to say what would be good to include, since this main article also still needs a lot of work and correcting as well.

- The 140 Real Ghostbusters Count at say Ghostbusters Wiki is based on every episode which means the 15 minutes episodes are separated out. Note that the dvd has put the episodes together as they aired in syndication, and not as they originally aired. At least in the US season 5 (fourth year ABC run) had aired every saturday a 15 minute episode, and 30 minute episode and 15 time slot of Slimer!(completely re-runs). I debate why you guys over here keep on tieing together the Slimer! show with the Real Ghostbusters. They are different shows produced from different design sheets from different studios. Look at the Slimer! and The Real Ghostbusters as a hour block of cartoons. That means Slimer! is not connected or counted with Real Ghostbusters. Devilmanozzy (talk) 08:17, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Ghostbusters, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man
Since the character the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is mentioned in this article and is a continuing character in this series I want to invite anyone interested in the discussion Talk:Ghostbusters_(franchise)#Merge_discussion.2C_Redux where we are discussing whether he should have an article about only him or if all the content about him should be moved to Ghostbusters_(franchise). It would need to be rewritten and additional references would be useful, I've suggested some maybe you can contribute to the discussion and read the article and the other peoples thoughts on the subject. [edit] Did Laura Summer take over as Janine in season 2 or 3?
The "production" section says she took over in season 2, but the cast listing says she took over in season 3. So which one is it? Grand Dizzy (talk) 22:59, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
- There is a similar discrepency with Winston's voice actors, but i think the problem goes beyond that, as this article indicates there were 7 seasons total, whereas the Episode list shows only 6. Is it possible Season 1 is sometimes counted as two seasons, maybe split into ABC & Syndication? Whichever is "correct", the articles should be made to agree. Evil-yuusha (talk) 20:01, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
-
- It is 7 seasons. There isn't much to debate there. Look at how the production numbers work on the RGB Box Set booklet and its clear. Devilmanozzy (talk) 08:21, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
