What is the source for the 'cool' meaning? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.168.23.60 (talkcontribs) 07:12, 21 November 2005

  • I've heard of it meaning "cool" before, but where's the source (or at least example?) for tight meaning "drunk"? I've never heard of that, and although I know this doesn't always follow with slang, but I don't really understand how or why it would mean drunk either...141.155.138.190 03:12, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
    • In Hemingway's books, for instance the Sun Also Rises, the word tight is frequently used for intoxicated. For instance one of the characters may say, "Please forgive me, I was quite tight last night." Outside of Hemingway however, I've never heard tight used that way.
