Talk:Treforest

As of 2005 the correct spelling is Trefforest with two Fs. This has been the case for rather a long time.

I have moved it to the correct spelling and redirected Treforest to it Mark W Beech 23:15, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

No proof of the correct spelling being ff. The RCT site spells it with one f, the ward is officially one f, as is the office for national statistics. The Encyclopedia for Wales states one f (2008). Rail station and Primary school appear correct as ff, but town not so. Please cite before moving back. FruitMonkey (talk) 16:05, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Tom Jones

Where was Tom Jones born? Was it Trefforest, or Pontypridd? --Rebroad 23:18, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

He was born in Laura Street, Trefforest. Trefforest is a satellite town of Pontypridd and has long been included in "Pontypridd" for postal reasons. I suppose its the same as someone from Richmond upon Thames saying they come from London as more people will be familiar with the larger town the smaller one is next to. Meic Stephens

This Meic Stephens that has been added. I agree that he is notable but should he not appear on his own home town page instead of Treforest? He is a Professor at the University in treforest! Ponty Pirate (talk) 15:27, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Found this. Turns out he is from Tref all along. Sorry. [1] [2]. I still think his paragraph needs something doing to it though. I don't think he needs such a large write up so maybe lose the quote. Ponty Pirate (talk) 17:54, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
