Talk:West Scandinavian Norwegian dialects

I've never ever heard of the concept "West Scandinavian Norwegian dialects". Before it was cleaned up, the page seemed to treat it as some kind of synonym to "nynorsk". The problem with this is that nynorsk isn't a dialect. In its present shape, WSNd seems to point to all Norwegian dialects except Eastern Norwegian, which to me seems like a strange categorisation.

The distinction between West and East Scandinavian is a bit misleading when it comes to Norwegian dialects, and is not typically emphasized by Norwegian linguistics. There is no dividing line between one and the other, and there is general recognition that influences have come from several directions.

I turned this into a redirect to "Norwegian dialects".
