"Xanthippos was directly responsible for the impeachment of Miltiades following Miltiades' failure to capture Paros in 489 BC [2]

"He was ostracised in 484 BC."

Does that mean that Miltiades was ostracized? Considering that it's a separate paragraph, and that Xanthippos is the subject of the article, it seems to imply that it was Xanthippos who was ostracized, before his rise to prominence. Unfree (talk) 05:19, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

From Wikipedia: Miltiades or Miltiadis (short: Miltos) is a Greek name. Several historic persons have been called Miltiades (Μιλτιάδης).

   * Miltiades the Elder (died c. 524 BC) wealthy Athenian, and step-uncle of Miltiades the Younger
   * Miltiades the Younger (c. 550 - 489 BC), tyrant of the Thracian Chersonese; took part in the Battle of Marathon
   * Pope Miltiades (died 314), African saint and pope

Of these, only Miltiades the Younger was alive in 489. So it must have been Xanthippos who was ostracized five years later. Case closed. Unfree (talk) 05:38, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
