A fact from Yaxchilan appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know? column on 9 July 2009 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows: "Did you know ... that the Classic Maya archaeological site of Yaxchilan, on the Mexican border with Guatemala, is known for its preserved sculpted lintels (example pictured) detailing the dynastic history of the city?"

I'm not able to find enough to straighten out the dynasty between some decade + old books in my collection and a google search; I'll check at Tulane library for better info; in the meantime, below are my rough notes on rulers. -- Infrogmation 23:27, 16 Nov 2003 (UTC)

Consider revising the caption for Yaxchilan Lintel 25. Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Quetzalcoatl Rawhead

Everything mentioned in the lead should appear in the article text - I think for example that the specific info that the lintels are describing history should be brought out more clearly in the article body. When it's all clearly there, then the lead, as a summary, can loose its citations. Hekerui (talk) 20:37, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
