Vimalakīrtinirdeśasūtra[edit]

For the De Jong review of La concentration de la marche héroïque (Śūraṃgamasamādhisūtra) (French version), on p 78, he stated that Lamotte provided translations of the Chinese and Tibetan versions of the Vimalakīrtinirdeśasūtra. Lamotte stated that he preferred the Chinese version and did not state his reasons for doing so. WhisperToMe (talk) 01:33, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

According to p. 167 of Emmerick's review of La concentration de la marche héroïque, a reviewer of the Lamotte translation of Vimalakīrtinirdeśasūtra, the translation was "called into question". E concluded that "Lamotte's practice of providing Sanskrit equivalents for key Tibetan words within parenthensis sin his translation I should like to record my vote in his favour."

The relevant book is titled: Vimalakīrtinirdeśasūtra: L'enseignement de Vimalakīrti (Vimalakīrtinirdeśa), Bibliothèque de Muséon, Vol. 51, Louvain, 1962.
