Plural?[edit]

Why is the term 10 Years treated as a plural noun? Refering to the singular band, it should not be so- consequently, i believe that all the verbs should appropriately be changed to apply to the singular form (e.g. Are -> is, were -> was, etc etc). If someone can explain why the band's name is treated as plural, that will suffice, assuming the reason is sound. 24.219.113.171 15:01, 25 May 2007 (UTC) 10 Years was the length of time the members had dreamed of lasting when they first formed, As announced at the "Feeding the Wolves" premier show in Knoxville, TN when they met their goal. So... plural because they are referring to more than one year, noun because as a band they fit into the person place thing or idea criteria76.123.249.100 (talk) 04:35, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

singles[edit]

was seasons to cycle really a single??? i don't think so, can someone change the singles back to the way it was? i'm not that good with coding... Itachi1452 16:16, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

"The vocals of Jesse Hasek exquisitely display the intricate nuances and styles"

This is absurd. Wikipedia is about objective information, not overwritten, masturbatory, self-congratulating marketing copy.

I agree with you! I tried to remove those descriptions, but someone reverted it back! GAY!

please sign your comments. but yeah...i know it's sourced, but seems a little unnecessary. it's like saying in a bio of someone that that person molested dogs or something just out of the blue. Itachi1452 23:10, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Image[edit]

I have now tagged the image that is currently being used for the infobox as missing copyright information. However, from what I can tell, the image is a copyrighted by 10yearsfans.net. If someone could upload their own photograph that they release the rights to, than that would be the best option. Otherwise, a more free alternative needs to be found. See WP:IUP for more information. —Akrabbimtalk 02:02, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Rare and Live Tracks[edit]

Was this an official album? Looks suspicuously like some kind of bootleg to me. Rehevkor (talk) 02:00, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

So Long, Good-bye[edit]

Despite being added on 10 Years' Myspace music player, this has not been confirmed to be the next single. According to the band, the choices have been narrowed to Russian Roulette, Daydreamer, Actions & Motives, and Drug of Choice. The Tanker (talk) 01:07, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

---If you check their blog, they announced it was the single... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thepatman0 (talkcontribs) 02:45, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Brandon Estelle[edit]

So, can someone define, with a source, his official role in the band? People keep on changing it endlessly, and it'd be nice if we could have an official stance to refer people to on the discussion page.

From what I can gather, it looks like he's merely a touring musician who joined up with the band this year. Is this correct? Sergecross73 msg me 13:29, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Genre[edit]

10 years isn't all alternative metal, they have many songs that are considered "art rock", "progressive rock", and "progressive metal". Their main influences include Tool, and they sound A LOT like them. I think they should also be labeled as progressive rock, progressive metal, art rock, and post-grunge, not just alternative metal. 5:41, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

Alternative metal is the only genre here because it's the only sourced genre, you can go ahead and add any of those genres as long as you have a citation for them. I honestly don't see anything that progressive about this band, they sound mainly like Chevelle, Earshot, Breaking Benjamin and all those Tool like modern rock bands. Also if you check the alternative metal article you'll see "progressive rock" is listed as just one of the many possible influences. I call the big one bitey 00:28, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

10 Years10 Years (band) – Ambiguous generic name for this little-known band; there are strong contenders as primary topic, such as decade, 10 Years (film), 10 Years (Armin van Buuren album), or 10 Years (Banco de Gaia album)  Ohc ¡digame!¿que pasa? 03:20, 23 May 2013 (UTC) 10 Years (disambiguation)10 Years or 10 years

Survey[edit]

  • Support too generic even with capital Y, and not primary topic. In ictu oculi (talk) 04:02, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Support, is not WP:PRIMARYTOPIC even if you concede capitalization as a WP:NATURAL disambiguator. Red Slash 21:47, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Support, though I take issue with nom's concept of "strong contenders as primary topic" for a term that clearly has no primary topic. Dicklyon (talk) 04:13, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Support band disambiguation for sure, uncertain about best usage of "10 Years". The film seems like a decent candidate for primary topic going by pageviews. I seriously doubt that many people are looking for "decade" when they intentionally type in "10 Years" with a capital "Y". Dohn joe (talk) 17:12, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Support, for the reasons already voiced. ╠╣uw [talk] 01:03, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
  • Support per above. The capital is not sufficient to disambiguate between "10 Years" and "10 years", what the primary topic is for this phrase is a discussion for another venue - although surely it should be "decade" before any band or film. Яehevkor 11:42, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
