- Adrian de Pauger, the French architect who developed the plan for rebuilding New Orleans after the city was entirely destroyed in the fire of 1788 March 21. After two centuries, the French Quarter still conforms to de Pauger's original street plan. The Adrien de Pauger article has recently appeared on the Wikipedia.
