How many games were supposed to be played in the 1901 AL season?[edit]

The Brewers played 139 games while the Sox and Boston played 137 and 138 amount. Surely, the season wasn't scheduled for an odd number of games. Was it supposed to be a 140-game schedule? Even if it was scheduled for 139 games, Boston should have been able to make up their tied games. They had 2 ties which didn't affect their W/L record. Games that end in a tie have to be finished if they affect the pennant race.

Someone please explain. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.73.132.54 (talk) 16:25, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
