What's in the table?

I don't want to get into a revert war over this, but I gotta say, I still think that it should specify the NHL season is not a WHA season. "To read the text" is fine, but to list an NHL season as the next WHA season is still an inaccurate statement, and even when the simplest fool could say "ah, that's not a WHA season, obviously", inaccuracy is something to be avoided in my mind. Do do make a valid point and yes, it could be improved. Right now, it says 1979-80 "NHL" season. When I made the article, i thought that would be clear, esecially after reading the text at the beginning. I have an idea, instead of adding the "note" to the table and making the table take up half the bottom of the page, I will add a note after. Have a look and see what you think. North & South, East & West, Third = First?

Ravenswing, you state in your revert "Every bit of info added is accurate". Not sure why you are backing the edits of a since-blocked IP address editor – correction, IP address editor who has been blocked three times, one for each nearly identical IP address used over the series of the May 2019 edits to this article. The regular season champion is the team that finished first in the regular season, not the team that finished third, which is the incorrect data the IP address editor added into the infobox. There was no North-South, nor East-West, both of which were incorrectly entered by the IP address editor into the infobox. The entire divisional format had already been eliminated by the 1977–78 WHA season, as the league was dying, dropping from 12 teams at the start of 1976–77 WHA season to 8 teams in 1977–78, then down to 6 teams by middle of the season this article is about. The matchups in each of the first two rounds of the 1978–79 playoffs were determined by a simple highest versus lowest format per the regular season standings, not a (non-existent) North-South divisional format, with the two surviving teams meeting in the Avco Cup final round. I simply reverted to the last accurate version of the data shown in the article, which had been properly entered on 8 February 2011, and stood for years until the now blocked IP address editor jumped in with the series of inaccurate edits in May 2019.
