setups[edit]

Senna using Prost's setups in every race? where is the source for such a claim? Loosmark (talk) 14:29, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The only source I've managed to find is an interview with Alain Prost, which hardly makes it neutral enough to use as a source for that. The article is very un-encyclopedic anyway and ought to have the summary removed, rewritten or cited. Readro (talk) 15:11, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

4th and 5th in the WCC[edit]

Lotus-Honda and Arrows-Megatron both scored 23 points. Arrows' best result was 1 x 3rd place, whereas Lotus' best results were 3 x 3rd places. Under today's "countback" scheme (which as far as I'm aware was also in force back in 1988), Lotus would therefore be placed 4th in the WCC and Arrows 5th. Sources f1-fansite.com, Sky Sports and ESPN support that order. However, formula1.com lists Arrows in 4th and Lotus in 5th. Does anyone know of any other sources? (An FIA source would be especially helpful). Thanks. DH85868993 (talk) 10:32, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just skipped the 1988 Australian Grand Prix to the end to see the standings and the feed shows Lotus at 4th place with 21 points, and Williams being at 5th with Arrows at 6th and March at 7th (all three teams with 20 points). Even the 1988 Australian Grand Prix article confirms this. – Sabbatino (talk) 11:57, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
After taking a look at the race's edit history I found that you were the one who changed the points and positions. – Sabbatino (talk) 12:39, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As the footnote explains, 1988 Australian Grand Prix#Championship standings after the race shows the points standings as they were at the declaration of results for that race. Several weeks later, Benetton were disqualified from their third and fourth place finishes in the Belgian Grand Prix and the other finishing positions were adjusted, resulting in an additional 2 points for Lotus (taking their total to 23) and an additional 3 points for Arrows (taking their total also to 23).
