For some reason, the official Champ Car site (see references) does not include the final point standings or provide details of who won the bonus points for most laps led. The points totals here are generated using the mathematical formula for points according to position, plus the bonus point for pole position, all of which can be determined from the standings on the official site. To infer the "laps led" points, I referred to my own videotapes of most races in this season, which sometimes state the winner of that point, or show points totals that differ from those indicated by the mathematical sum of the start and finish position. I believe I have correctly applied most of the 16 points awarded for most laps led in each race, but it is possible that the points indicated on this page are off very slightly for this reason. Any authoritative update would obviously be welcome. Commasense (talk) 19:21, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

The Jeff Krosnoff tragedy occured during the Toronto, Canada street race, not at Laguna Seca as the article states. (talk) 14:31, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
