– Main article is at European Speed Skating Championships, and it appears to have been the official name all along, although only allround competitions were held. From 2017, both allround and sprint competitions are held. I suggest we move the year articles to the generic names (and include the sprint results there, rather than creating a separate article). The announcement presents both types of championships, and they took place in parallel this weekend, in the same location. HandsomeFella (talk) 20:39, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Support This seems indeed to be the official name. Given the combined nature of the allround and sprint championships, it's best to have all results in a single article, unless it's too much information. Gap9551 (talk) 01:15, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I have removed the 2017 championships, as a user recently moved the article prematurely. HandsomeFella (talk) 10:22, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Support and Comments: In Norwegian Wikipedia I have used the main article as an article about the championship for medalwinners in samalog and distances and also including a medaltable by gender and type of competition. I used also a bit of text for related short-history and related records (track, championship and national records) and I will also include a small paragraph of the shooting-incident outside the stadium commented on Twitter by the norwegian sprinter Espen Aarnes Hvammen. And I also have included a paragraph for the referees at the championship for official referee and official starter named by International Skating Union, because I think they are as inclusionable as a footballing referee as they do the same type of work and makes a lot of decisions during the championship. And only the referee and or the starter can make a participant disqualified from the competition. The technical organizers as a group (mentioned in the official announcement linked above on top of page 2 in the .pdf-document) I believe should also have a mention and also possible an article. So therefore I made a more detailed article for each of the 4 competitions held. Best regards Migrant (talk) 00:24, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Note to closer: there were two talk pages for the 2016 championship, one with and one without the "Allround" bit. I have redirected the one without "Allround" to the the one with it for consistency. This may cause some problems at move time. HandsomeFella (talk) 10:58, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
