555-LIST list of fictional phone numbers - 'd like to see a short Wik article explaining the use (history, reasoning, accidents?) of 555 telephone numbers in movies (and what-ever) dealing with the U.S.
- I think Wikipedia might already have the kind of article you have in mind: see 555 telephone number. This article is already mentioned in the article, but the fact that you've posed this query suggests that perhaps the article could be worded better. PrimeFan 23:23, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
555 the tongue twister - or not?[edit]
The German word fünfhundertfünfundfünfzig is definitely not a tongue twister, at least not for a native speaker. Clmeier 16:37, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe offline German speakers living in America like to cite it as a tongue twister to non-German speakers. That way they make themselves look more fluent. Anton Mravcek 00:10, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
