I reckon it's more than allowed. It's great. Clearly you're putting a lot of work into some excellent good faith edits here. Some pedants from elsewhere will be keen to see formal referencing asap (I guess I'm one of them), and if you can't do it yourself, any hints you can give about your real sources may help others turn them into good references.
