Consensus

What is the justification for having this article in the Masonic Lodges category? This article has nothing to do with a masonic lodge. It is about a building used by a masonic lodge. Category:Masonic Lodges clearly states, "This category is for articles on notable local chapters of the organization known as Freemasonry. In Freemasonry the word "Lodge" refers to a group of Freemasons as an organizational entity, and not to the building in which they assemble. Please do not include articles on Masonic buildings in this category; for buildings related to Masonry, see Category:Masonic buildings." RiverStyx23{^talk_email} 16:39, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Yes... this is definitely an article about a building and not an article about a lodge (which is the group of people that meet in the building). The cat should reflect that. Blueboar (talk) 00:32, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

It depends. Personally I think that if the title is of a Masonic Lodge then it should be in the category. However that is contentious. If the article mentions the lodge in more than passing (more than a sentence) then the Masonic Lodge category applies, whether or not that lodge would be notable. What is the purpose of a category? It is to allow someone to find articles of relevance to some research they are doing or question they have with relation to the category, in this case masonic lodges (as opposed to building). So I would agree that "if the article mentions the lodge in more than [in] passing," the category would be appropriate. Let's assess that, but a simple mention that the lodge meets there or no longer meets there would not, I think, be enough. RiverStyx23{_submarine^target} 23:05, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
