Hey was just talking to someone on this discussion board called UKMIX and apparantly "About A Girl" spent one week in the charts in Australia at #4 then dropped out of the charts.

Fair use rationale for Image:Nirvana about a girl.jpg[edit]

Image:Nirvana about a girl.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

One can remove the Billboard Hot 100 from the charting section. About a Girl was not released as a commercial single, only a radio single, and therefore was not eligible for the Billboard Hot 100. Allaplgies (talk) 18:05, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Prostitution[edit]

How come there is no metnion of the constant references to a hooker in the article. Its quite obvious thats what the song is about, rather than that bullcrap story about how its about his girlfriend, which was made up to not bring any negativity to the bands image. Look at these lines and tell me that it isn't about a hooker:

I need an EASY FRIEND(slang for hooker) I'll take advantage while you hang me out to dry I can't see you every night FOR FREE I do PICK UP number two

There should atleast be some metnion about it. Can't you just imagine Cobain walking in to the studio, talking about the song, being asked what his new song was, and him smiling and saying, "Well, its about a....girl."? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cwray27 (talkcontribs) 02:13, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cites or it didn't happen. Speaking of which, the current story needs to be cited or deleted; I'll look for evidence of it when I get home. 143.92.1.32 (talk) 01:01, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
