Disagreements are not "Vandalism"[edit]

Mr. Mathew, disagreeing with your version of history is not "vandalism". You repeatedly promote your version of history as if it were undisputed fact, especially when writing about some "original purity". First show evidence that this "original purity" you mention ever existed or if anyone had thought of such a thing prior to the arrival of the low-church Church of England-CMS missionaries to Kerala. Also, if this is the "original purity", why is it that the high-church Anglicans of the same Church of England have the exact same practices (prayers to saints, for the dead, statues/icons, etc), in addition to EVERY Orthodox Church, including the Oriental Orthodox and (Assyrian) Church of the East? The idea that Rome infiltrated every Orthodox Church, inserted these "non-biblical practices" - even the Churches most opposed to the Pope, and forces them to practice these things to this day - borders on insanity.--MookThala (talk) 07:58, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

POV[edit]

It's not an encyclopeDic language. His DoB is in the middle of the article cos the first paragraph is reserved for some POV opinion (this ref. for the paraagraph doesnt change anything). "Conclusion" section isPOV as well. V1t 07:17, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV template without ongoing discussion per Template:POV instructions[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Did Maplan found the Mar Thoma church??[edit]

For a long time, Mar Thoma Syrian Church has stated that St. Thomas, the apostle, was the founder in 52 AD. Someone revised that article today to Abraham Malpan. I reverted that because Maplan worked in the 1800's and the church is older than that.

But now I see that this article also indicates that Malpan founded the church. But is that correct?? Whether St. Thomas was the founder or not, surely the Mar Thoma church existed long before the birth of Abraham Malpan. 

 It is traditionally belived that St. Thomas (Mar Thoma in Syriac), the disciple of Jesus Christ came to India in AD 52 and established the Church in the Malabar coast. http://marthoma.in/the-church/overview/

  Tradition dictates that in 52 AD, St. Thomas arrived on a trading vessel from Alexandria to Cranganore (Malankara), which was an early haven for Jews of the diaspora. He first went to the Jews of Kerala and then to the Gentiles. He had erected seven churches in the following locations: Cranganor Chavakad (Palur) Parur near Alwaye Gakamangalam Niranam Nilakkal (Chayal) Quilon (Kalyan) The Apostle Thomas ordained two bishops, Kepha and Paul, for Malabar and Coromandal (Mylapore).
