Abronah/Ebronah, Hebron, and the Hebrews.[edit]

Interesting that the name Abronah/Ebronah means, "passage" and contains the same consonants as the 'BR' forms we see in "Abram", "Abarim", "Ebron" (Hebron) "Eber"/"Ebre" (Heber--Hebre/Hebrews) "Habor"or "Khabor" etc. The West Semitic 'BR' represents a limited range of meanings and seems to convey an association with "passage", "crossing", "alliance", "convergence", "fugitive", "fleeting", or some "transitory" state. I think the term certainly describes the Hebrews and their wanderings into Egypt, out of Egypt, into exile in Babylon, out of Babylon, then into exile with the Persians, and Romans-- and now back again to their homeland etc.

The early Habiri/Apiru people of the late Bronze Near east (covering a diverse range of territories and activities from c.2000-1100 BC) whether linked genetically to the Hebrews or not, contain the same root, 'BR' and are associated in the same or very similar life circumstance as the patriarchs and early Israelites such as Abram or David and their small armies of 300-600 men creating havoc on local towns.

I think this article should mention the root, "BR" and its relevance to the name "Abronah" as the crossing point, of the "BR"-- "Hebrews."
