[edit] Where to start

How to make this article less of a how to and more of a what it shoudl be :-) NilssonDenver (talk) 22:08, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Let's make accounts payable exciting, people.

As a fellow accountant...I'll try my best, but I prefer accounts receivable.  :)

Well, I'm not an accountant, but I just rewrote the intro to try to make it a little more easy to understand for the peasants and sex it up a little with an example of Dells mastery of the A/P. Sbwoodside 06:31, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

This article is far from complete and doesn't define the Accounts Payable process, its purpose nor its relationship to Purchasing, Budget and Accounting. The reference to Dell as a company who bills prior to shipping is incorrect.

Accounts Payable is a liability account on the General Ledger. The collection of individual amounts due vendors comprises the sub-ledger to the Accounts Payable account.

Account Payable is a module in SAP . —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.6.3.122 (talk) 01:15, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Why is this article basically an ad for Pastel Evolution (and Accpac to a lesser extent)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.151.107.13 (talk) 16:58, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Subledger

Accounts payable is a subledger of the general ledger, is it not? 205.217.105.2 16:01, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
