I prefer to keep them separate, unless Action Man itself is mostly mad science. If it isn't, I lose the chance to put my Mad science category on the Dr. X page. --David.alex.lamb 03:05, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

"Dr. X was one of the biggest villains in toy history and has been the enemy of Action Man for the past fourteen or so years. However as time went on, Dr X's influence began to decline so in a final showdown with Action Man, Dr. X was thrown from a high window and clung to the ledge for dear life. Action Man stood over his nemesis as Dr. X pleaded for help. The people voted that this ongoing battle for fourteen years had to end and so Action Man just stood there and cooly watched as Dr. X lost his grip on the ledge and fell to his death."

There's no explanation here as to exactly what venue these events took place in, or how the voting was done. This article is about the Action Man toy line; discussions of Dr. X's death would probably be more appropriate in the TV series article. Also, I don't see how a character introduced "in the mid-late 90's" could have been active "for the past fourteen or so years".

Hi, this is a great artical but I wonder if anyone can remember the 'back pack' helicopter that you used to operate by squeezing a button on the side and the Action Man assualt course with zip wire. I know this is a fairly minor issue, but Action Men figures traditionally have the thumbnail on their right hand on the inside, rather than the more usual outside (or top) of the thumb. I've no idea why, as surely if it is to indicate a doll is a copy, rather than genuine, it wouldn't be difficult for other makers to do the same?

Minor article cleanup

I've cleaned up the article a little - mainly removing the large unsourced section on repairs which was basically an advertisement and the external links which had become a bit of a WP:LINKFARM. Most were to forums (see WP:ELNO no. 10) and the rest were dead, but I think it would be nice to have an appropriate link of two in there. Animated serials

There were at least two animated serials of Action Man, both follow the adventures of Action Man (Alex 'Action' Man in the second serial) and his team as they thwart the evil plans of Dr.X.

The first serial was in 1995; it was mostly traditionally animated but featured some CGI, and had live-action scenes at the beginning and end of each episode. The second serial was from 2001(?) and was 3D CG animated. Not sure if the second serial is a sequel, but it did have tie-in merch, including at least one video-game.
