Is Alamo Placita Really a Neighborhood of Denver?[edit]

If you look at the map of Denver neighborhoods,

,

Alamo Placita is not there. I think it is not really an official neighborhood. The area described as the Alamo Placita neighborhood is really the Speer neighborhood. Denverjeffrey (talk) 13:13, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but there are actually many "neighborhoods" that aren't official just like Alamo Placita. Lower Downtown (LoDo) is an example even though that name is almost ubiquitous for much of the area in the official Union Station neighborhood. Uptown, Golden Triangle and Curtis Park are also considered by many to be neighborhoods even when they are not officially considered so by the city. If there were a Speer neighborhood page I might consider suggesting a merge of Alamo Placita and Speer, but since there isn't, I am fine with having Alamo Placita as its own page. I think there somewhat of a distinction in the minds of some residents who consider the portions of the Speer neighborhood north of Speer Boulevard to be Alamo Placita, basically the area surrounding the park of the same name.
