References[edit]

Would it be appropriate to use Chris Hardwick's interview of Alanna Uback as a reference source?

Removing voice actor/voice artist on Alanna Ubach[edit]

@Grandpallama: I don't know why this continue to be a big issue, if literally, Alanna has done both a balance of doing live-action and voice over roles right now. Look at the likes Mark Hamill, Clancy Brown, Alan Tudyk, Lacey Chabert, Mae Whitman, Bobby Moynihan, Kelly Hu, Patrick Warburton, Karen Strassman, among many other actors and actresses they are listed as Actor/actress and voice actor/voice artist because right now these actors I mentioned especially Mark Hamill and Clancy Brown do on-camera acting and voice over acting just like Alanna Ubach. Honestly, it just wouldn't make sense to just get rid of "voice artist/voice actor" on the infoboxes or descriptions completely and just ONLY listing it as just actor/actress regardless if you or anyone say voice actor/voice artist is a subset or not, and justifying that that voice artist/voice actor" should be removed and ONLY just list it as ONLY Actor/Actress. If you want to continue being so shrewd saying so otherwise that's your choice but I don't want to continue having to listen to your counterarguments and making the same nonsense that comes from you or those previously about having Voice actor and Actors be one and the same and being a subset. Lastly, here is a discussion I made on the Tara Strong page I made several years ago and recently a discussion on Bobby Moynihan why this has become a wishy-washy debate that gets tiresome.--AnimeDisneylover95 (talk) 17:53, 5 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Counterpoint: you just came off a long block for exactly this sort of edit warring and for ignoring consensus, and multiple editors are pointing out that a "voice actor" is simply a subset of "actor". You have linked to two talkpage discussions in which this repetitive listing has been disputed and largely rejected, not endorsed. You have listed a number of actors who have this description because you have added that description at many of those articles. Finally, the attitude of I don't want to continue having to listen to your counterarguments and making the same nonsense that comes from you or those previously is almost certainly going to result in your block being reinstated unless you quickly rethink your approach to editing at Wikipedia. Counterpoint: No offense @Grandpallama: but your response at me "You have listed a number of actors who have this description because you have added that description at many of those articles". Okay firstly I didn't add the "voice actor" in most actors that I mentioned mainly Mark Hamill, Clancy Brown, to name a few as thes actors had the "voice actor" just like that before I even edited them. Secondly, even if I'm edit warring (which I shouldn't do) I haven't been going back on the page and reverting the other users edits "3 times" in a span of 24 hours. Lastly, you are the one seems to unable to articulate a reason why voice actor/voice artist shouldn't be listed and continuing to be adamant about it, and for your information I'm well aware voice-acting is a form or "subset" of acting (but that's subjective). What's frustrating is just not having "voice actor/voice artist" be put in the infoboxes or descriptions for certain actors (e.g. Bobby Moynihan, Tim Curry, Yvette Nicole Brown) who do 50/50 on-camera and voice-over or have been doing voiceover more frequently than their on-camera acting. Again it makes no sense to just have actors and actresses that do both On-camera acting and voiceover-acting consistently to be just relegated to just "actors".--AnimeDisneylover95 (talk) 19:13, 5 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not going to quibble about whether or not you've been adding this designation to the articles you listed; the diffs are available for anyone to review. Declaring you're not interested in listening to counterarguments is not a good look; get consensus for contested edits. The repetitive and unnecessary nature of listing the voice designation has been explained by multiple editors to you, and I did, in fact, articulate exactly why it is unnecessary in my response, too. Grandpallama (talk) 19:22, 5 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's not that I don't want to listen to you, it's just you along with NatGertler, and Cristabel are being so adamant on not wanting the voice-artist be listed on certain actors such as Alanna Ubach when literally she has done a balance of on-camera and voice over just like Mark Hamill and Clancy Brown and just being insistent that they need to be relegated to just actors. Look I'm sorry I'm being this and not agreeing with you, but it's just frustrating to see this debate be brought up again.--AnimeDisneylover95 (talk) 19:37, 5 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
