Cleanup and Things[edit]

I rewrote most of what was here to actually be a paragraph of information and added the company information box. I couldn't find a version of the logo with a white background, so I didn't add a logo. I couldn't really find much more information about them.--IndigoAK200 12:45, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Slightly later, they had a white-background logo on their website, have added it to infobox. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:07, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Anchorage Telephone Utility[edit]

Anybody remember when ACS was ATU? Can you help me find some sources to add this to the article? the iBook of the Revolution 01:32, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I might be able to help you. I have some experience with ACS and with ATU before they became ACS. Drop me a line. --Baronmarbot 22:25, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alaska Communications SystemsAlaska Communications — Alaska Communications Systems has changed their name to simply Alaska Communications. They also have a new logo and I would like to try to change the photo on this page, but don't know how to.--LinMcD (talk) 23:01, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This all seems fairly uncontroversial, and I do know how to do both things,  Done. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:10, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

image[edit]

I've added the new logo and taken a new shot of a local retail outlet. For reference in case the article is ever expanded to include it's history the old image is File:Acsstorehomer.JPG. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:19, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting Wireless Deal/Picture Updates[edit]

The wireless deal between Alaska Communications and GCI was finalized last year. [1]

The Homer retail store (pictured on the page) is no longer open. Photo should be removed. [2]209.193.44.254 (talk) 19:42, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ATTENTION ACS EMPLOYEES[edit]

One or more person or persons have been making edits that add very promotional language to the article. These edits are coming from IP addresses owned by ACS so it seems pretty clear it is somebody affiliated with he company doing this. As more than one IP is being used a notice here seems appropriate. You should be aware of the following:

  • Users with an inherent conflict of interest are strongly advised not to directly edit articles but rather to suggest edits here, on the talk page, to be reviewed by persons without such conflicts in order to retain he neutral point of view expected in an encyclopedia. Persons with a conflict of interest are often genuinely unable to see when they are distorting content in favor of their own bias, so this approach was developed so that they could help keep material updated and accurate without turning WP articles into corporate spam.
  • If you are making any of these edits as part of your job, You must explicitly and publicly disclose this fact.
  • Failure to follow these ethical standards will result in blocks and/or page protection, so it's best to just operate inside the rules and not keep adding highly promotional language to the article, as it will just keep getting reverted. Wikipedia wants to have accurate, up-to-date information, but for the reasons identified above the actual article should be edited by persons without any direct connection to the article subject.
Hope that helps. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:39, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
