Significance[edit]

I understand that this film is considered one of the classics of the genre, with unusually high production values. I believe it may have also been the last noteworthy cinematic porn effort, before the advent of filming everything on videotape. Videotape was a technology that allowed production companies to produce more volume at less cost. The quality of the genre has suffered ever since because expensive film isn't being shot anymore, removing some incentive to create quality productions.

Although I can't verify anything in the paragraph I wrote above, I have seen consensus on these points elsewhere. The film Boogie Nights, for example, illustrates the degradation of quality in the porn film industry when videotape became prevalent. If anything I wrote is verifiable, then something about the significance of this X-rated Alice in Wonderland should be mentioned in the article. Amatulic 23:20, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Release ratings[edit]

Wasn't the original film released as an explicit and also a hard-R version? The entry indicated it was cut to R when the VHS version came out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:CF99:2080:21BB:29C9:941C:514B (talk) 12:44, 10 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
