Updating this page[edit]

On Oct. 23, 2013, this page [1] was updated to reflect the name of the current AAFP President, current Board Chair, and President-elect. Unfortunately, this was done by an AAFP staff member without reaching out to help from Wikipedia. That will not happen again. Future proposed edits will be restricted to talk pages, with requests for help directed to Wikipedia Editors.

Sources for the update: [2] [3] [4]

If you wish to contact the AAFP, please email aafp@aafp.org.

The article American Academy of Family Physicians is underdeveloped and the AAFP News Now article is about a new (and therefore not notable) publication by the AAFP. Therefore, the two articles should be merged and the AAFP News Now article should become a redirect to the parent article. --Mecanismo | Talk 14:38, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Merge as proposed. AAFP barely pass WP:WEB, but should be expanded. Note, also added mergetags to both articles. Bjelleklang - talk 15:48, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Solid reasoning already given. Evolauxia 10:58, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Family Health Advocate info[edit]

Info about Family Health Advocate should be removed. This is no longer a program of the AAFP. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Usableweb (talkcontribs) 22:37, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update to links in references[edit]

We recently redesigned our website the following reference links are broken.

Hello AAFP. I updated the links. I want to see AAFP content well represented on Wikipedia perhaps we can collaborate to share Choosing Wisely content or any other such free public outreach educational campaign. Wikipedia discourages citing self-published sources and I wonder if you might know of better sources to use - see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Self-references to avoid for an explanation. Contact me if you want to chat. Blue Rasberry (talk) 20:21, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help. I'm more than happy to help improve family medicine content across Wikipedia. Usableweb (talk) 04:31, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Usableweb, I fixed all the links as you suggested. If you or AAFP have time to learn more about family medicine content on Wikipedia then I would give you a tour anytime or you can join in any of the conversations at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine. Wikipedia is a popular source of health information and we are trying to increase its coverage and improve its quality. Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:42, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism[edit]

The AAFP was criticized for accepting money from Coca-cola.[1]
