Steve Martin's Bach Cello Suites?[edit]

Is there a source for this? It sounds fantastic, but an (admittedly brief) search of Google doesn't seem to turn anything up. Nwinant (talk) 19:07, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Legitimacy of 'famous' claim ref Paul Rudy "Grandchild of Tree"[edit]

I am very familiar with John Cage's works for amplified cactus and/or other vegetable matters - such as "Child of Tree" (this article) and "Branches". I do not dispute they deserve their own wikipedia page.

However, the claim that "Another of the most famous pieces for amplified cactus is Degrees of Separation "Grandchild of Tree" by Paul Rudy which received mention at the Bourges International Competition for Electroacoustic Music in 2000.[3] Rudy mentions in his own program notes..." is entirely spurious in my opinion. Grandchild of Tree is not in any way "famous". It appears just once on a now deleted and very obscure 22002 compilation CDCM Computer Music Series, Vol. 33 https://www.allmusic.com/album/release/cdcm-computer-music-series-vol-33-mr0001234528 and on the composer's soundcloud page. Indeed, most of the text in the article is about the Paul Rudy off-shoot. I suspect this page - and certainly any revisions highlighting Paul Rudy - may be from the composer himself or an affiliate.

Should this text be deleted? I obviously bow to more experienced wili-editors for advice as I certainly do not want to act unilaterally. --Invulgo (talk) 10:40, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
