Spelling of the name[edit]

It is Artemisia, not Artemesia. Named after the sagebrush genus, for the grey formations around the pool. (See Scott Bryan, The Geysers of Yellowstone, or Lee Whittlesey, Yellowstone Place Names.)

The misspelling is very common. I see in the history that it started out correct and was changed to the wrong spelling last September.

I hesitate to change it back and break a bunch of links, but it DOES need fixed. Guess I need to read up on the details of changes!

Link rot[edit]

I removed Images of Artemisia Geyser as the link was 404. Archive.org didn't have the full page archived so I couldn't link to that.

I updated the References link to point at the newly redesigned geyserstudy.org page; this page also has photos, if you'd rather it be listed as a link than a reference. TaigaBridge 01:25, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nope! I think it is fine as a reference since that is one of the sites that I used extensively when working on the geyser pages. Thanks for updating the link.
