Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted because it meets Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/Notability OhanaUnited^{Talk page} 20:54, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry for having to template a regular (and a sysop, at that) but, first, subject matter project pages cannot as far as I know establish notability guidelines and, second, even if they can, that guideline says: "As noted in Wikipedia:Notability, a topic is presumed to be notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. ... In particular, the following types of topics will almost always have sufficient coverage to qualify: ... All airline companies." I'd suggest that this one-aircraft company does not come within "almost." Moreover, CSD A7 controls here because there is no credible claim of importance or significance made in the article. If you can add even one RS or make such a claim, I'll remove the A7 tag myself. I am perfectly familiar with the difference between policy, guideline, and essay. But {{essay-project-note}} says "This advice is not a formal Wikipedia policy or guideline, though it may be consulted for assistance during an AfD discussion". Furthermore, the same template says "WikiProjects are encouraged to write essays on notability". Whether an airline company is notable or not does not depend on the number or aircrafts. I already un-speedy-tagged this once, so I'm not going to do so again. However I was looking into this, and according to the listed source, the company has one plane. Even on the company's own website, I can't find anything to suggest the company actually operates. It's all in future language ("we will do this and that"). Not a subsidiary of Air India[edit]

This airline was not a subsidiary of Air India and the cargo division of it was Air India Cargo for the last 2 years or so it was listed as a subsidiary of AI with a frequent flyer programme and alliance?
