Assault weapons ban DAB page[edit]

Sue Rangell: About the Assault Weapons Ban of 2013 you keep removing,[1] from the Assault weapons ban DAB page: It doesn't matter if it became a law or not. The name of the bill was the Assault Weapons Ban of 2013, so it should be on a WP:DPAGE to "disambiguate a number of similar terms" that use or used "assault weapons ban." NOWHERE have I tried to hide the fact that the bill was a bill. But Wikipedia editors have for years, intentionally or not, made it seem as if there only ever was one assault weapons ban, which is untrue.

As for the Roberti-Roos Assault Weapons Control Act of 1989, it is frequently called an assault weapons ban, the ban on assault weapons, the assault weapons law, and so on. Once again, this was on a disambiguation page.

The others, I added for your benefit because you edited the Assault weapons ban article to suggest that there were AWBs in other countries - articles about which I assumed you had on your to-do list to write, or expected that someone else would be writing. But you've deleted those DAB entries, too.[2][3] Lightbreather (talk) 22:43, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This might be better transformed from a non-article disambiguation page into a list article (a set index article list) of various bans on assault weapons. Something like List of assault weapons bans. It would then be a valid redirect target for Assault weapons ban (while the disambiguation page here instead of the base name is not; see WP:MALPLACED). -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:37, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
