Image: haze removal in photos[edit]

Two of the images currently displayed need to have their haze reduced. - Samsara (talkcontribs) 13:27, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • If you have better pictures, then ... Not everyone believes that image manipulation is appropriate - if haze was photographed, then perhaps that is a realistic representation of the countryside. I am not the photographer, but I have been to that part of the world and they fairly illustrate the area.--A Y Arktos\talk 05:01, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Elevation[edit]

The peak of a mountain is specified by its elevation, and that elevation needs to be expressed relative to WHAT. In Australia and many other places, that is specified relative to sea level, so say so. There are other possibilities, such as relative to the floor of the ocean, relative to the surface of the Dead Sea, relative to the surface of the Caspian Sea, relative to the bottom of Death Valley, or relative to the surface of Lake Huron or Lake Erie. Note: All distances need to have both endpoints specified.
