Accreditation Questions[edit]

So what university does someone at AGSM become a "graduate" of? Is it University of Sydney or UNSW? JAJ 02:34, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The answer depends on when a student started their program - current students who meet the maximum time allowed for candidature will be graduating from both UNSW and USYD. [1] Students who enrol in 2007 and beyond will graduate from UNSW. AMR 06:20, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Marketing Copy[edit]

Shannonr, Please don't distort the page by repeatedly deleting important information. The information you keep on deleting is not marketing company but basic admissions information and does't come from school website or their sources the definition of marketing copy you are trying to apply will result in even deleting this page and most of other Wikipedia pages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.110.165.244 (talk) 07:57, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No-one is "distorting" anything. Please try to use less emotional language when you are discussing changes. I think that certain information is advertising, you don't. Let's discuss that. I just checked several of the other "business school" listings here on wikipedia (eg. Wharton, Harvard Business School, and noticed a distinct lack of the type of information under discussion. Further, such information is not encyclopedic -- surely it is the default for schools to offer scholarships, enable student loans, and link up to any/all government programs that fund student fees. Finally, that information is available, and more clearly presented, on the AGSM's own website. But the best argument for deletion isn't any of those. Information that talks about options for a financial relationship with the AGSM is, by definition, marketing copy. Note that the Walmart entry doesn't contain "where you can get low low prices every day, and take advantage of our unbeatable lay-away plan!" regardless of the "factuality" of those statements.--Shannonr (talk) 06:12, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]


Marketing Copy pt 2. "Financial Help" and "Admissions"[edit]

I'd like to bring this article in line with other business school articles: namely I'd like to delete the Financial Help and Admissions sections, as they constitute, I believe, marketing copy, and the exact same info is on the school website. To me it seems an open and shut case, but it caused controversy before (see above). Can I get some consensus? --Shannonr (talk) 06:09, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

After the "Advert" flag went up, I rewrote the article to remove the marketing language that had crept in, and removed the fin help and admissions copy, which also contributed to the advert flag. I feel that the article is now approaching NPOV. -- Shannonr (talk) 06:36, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
