Highest Court of Australia[edit]

In the opening paragraph it mentioned that the highest court in the Australian court system was the High Court. Although this is generally right it is still wrong, the Privy Council is the highest court of appeal in the Austrlian legal system as stated in the constitution. Also, judges might have decided that they wont refer cases to the Privy Council but not doing so would be unconstitutionanl and if a matter of inter se comes to the High Court then not refering it to the Privy Council would land the judges in jail, therefore, although the Privy Council is a very specilised court it is still the highest court. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.164.48.226 (talk) 22:56, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's not illegal for the HCA not to refer inter se matters to the Privy Council, nor would not doing so land judges in jail (sic). Politics of Australia[edit]

Should the court system really be included in 'Politics of Australia'. Courts are not party political like the two other branches of government. Proposed merge with Judiciary of Australia[edit]

It doesn't seem like Judiciary of Australia will (or should) ever have sufficiently different information to stand on its own. Judges and their courts are very tightly coupled subjects. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 08:46, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
