I've taken down the link to the SPRINGS website and diary in external links, and replaced it with Aya Hirano's official site. SPRINGS has disbaned and their website no longer exist. Feel free to add it back in if another offical SPRINGS site exist.

A lot of anime fans don't know the Hirano Aya's role in Springs, so I suggest that the administrators could write something about the conexion between j-pop and seiyuu, because the experience that Hirano Aya gained in Springs made the difference in Suzumiya Haruhi.

its ok, if u watch enough anime, u kno how schools do physical examination, yea its like that. i noticed that if you go to a [www.animenewsnetwork.com] go to some anime and find a seiyuu, or director or whatever, some person click for more info, it tells all. their hobbies, blood type, height, and other measurements. --Noob

Japanese celebrity measurements, blood type, and astrological signs for the more Western inclined readers are all legitimate data to be included in a Wiki. The fact that people sometimes don't know or can't accept that certain data is used differently culturally, entertainingly, or informatively is not a reason to preclude such data. In the case of the data in discussion, blood type is often culturally used to define personality types much like westerners more heavily use dates of birth. Whether you take it seriously or not is your business, and shouldn't enter into Wiki. With regard to other measurements, they are what they are. People like to know the sizes and shapes of their celebrities. Publicized measurements are generally more common in the East. The listing of such data is neither new nor tasteless. One good example of why any such data is of any reader relevance would be Tom Cruise. Either by design or circumstance, it is infrequently mentioned how short in height he actually is. There are a lot of folks who would never have known that unless they were very careful practitioners of observation, or had read about it. In the end, Wikis should be about more data, not less.

No one should feel like they can't add details such as measurements. However, my only hope is that a publishing source and time frame can be established, and accompany the data for accuracy and historical reference. Any kind of volatile data subject to change should really be placed in perspective if the information is available. --S. W.

Agreed. User:Andycjp is still making edits without discussion on this topic, even after posting in my talk page. Apparently she thinks my listing of information is an attempt to sell Aya Hirano (read her Edit summary comments in the revision history of my talk page) because I have "shares" in the "company" (???) she deleted? Remember, this is a person who warns me of personal attacks but does it herself constantly. Luckily, she makes frequent edits to her own editing so much that revision histories often reveal more of her true nature.--Willsun (talk) 18:32, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Finalist

Princess Soft annouced that they will make it into an anime in late 2005. However, as of right now (july, 2006) it's still only a game and not an anime, although Aya Hirano does voice for the character. Eternal Sleeper

Ashita/Asu no Prism

Since this has been reverted back and forth a couple of times I thought I'd mention that, despite some online stores like Yes Asia listing the single as "Asu no Prism" the actual sung lyric is "Ashita no Prism". Shiroi Hane 21:25, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

The image currenty on the page has been disputed as apparently this subject requires a free use image. I've been told to either find a free licensed image, and I have no idea where to find one of those; request the copyright holder release the image, which I cannot do as my Japanese isn't good enough; or take a picture myself, which I can't as I'm in the wrong country. Personal

There are a few points/facts from the Japanese Aya entry on the Personal section that I feel a bit shaky about, and several more that I did not attempt to translate. Some facts, however, I did not want to put in during my edits because I feel like they fall into useless trivia. But I could be wrong since I might misinterpret its context. I was the one who added that part in. My concern were the other parts I did not translate from the Japanese Aya entry that seemed to be very trivial information without references. Lucky ☆ Star

I didn't think it was necessary to bring this issue up, but people are constantly changing Aya's roles in Lucky Star as seen by one of the latest updates by a brilliant non-registered user. I even left the ! tag in her entry discouraging further changes to her roles.

Konata Izumi: Easy enough. That was certainly her main role and was present in every episode.
Herself: The only time Aya appeared in her anime form was in episode 15 when the main characters attended the Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekisou concert. I guess there can be an argument in that she might not voice anything as herself, but she is singing the insert song "God knows..."
Haruhi Suzumiya: People often want to credit this role to episode 16 where the main characters visit Konata at the cosplay café and Konata utilizes her Haruhi voice. Despite Aya being the one who voices both the original characters, the voice was meant to be Konata's imitation (albeit perfect because it is Aya). The credit to Haruhi Suzumiya in Lucky Star should not be listed at all if it weren't for the commercial the Hiiragi twins watch in episode 20 that features the brown-haired, yellow ribbon-wearing Haruhi actually appearing on-screen (and having lines to speak).

It was credited in the ending credits of Lucky Star ep 16. She also sings Sunny Sunshiny Happy so it should be noted that her voice did appear in episode 16.

What is "it" in terms of role? I'm sure Aya's name appeared at the credits for every episode since she voices Konata. And the list of roles is for appearance of characters, and the animated representation of Aya herself only appears in episode 15. Yūko Gotō for instance, is only to be credited for her appearance as "herself" in episode 23 only and not including episode 16 for the use of the song Hare Hare Yukai in which she also sings in. There seems to be difficulty for people to understand that the few seiyūs that have credits for themselves in Lucky Star is only because the series played heavily on Haruhi references and actually drew the main characters of the Haruhi cast's real life caricature for cameo appearances throughout the series. Another example is Minami Kuribayashi in which an insert song she sings for is played in episode 23. The animators of Lucky Star never drew Minami Kuribayashi as a character in Lucky Star. Her name is most likely listed in the credits for the song, but not as a character. My point is that the listing under Anime is for the roles/characters they play for the series, and voice appearance in a song does not count as a "role" nor a "character."

Discography of Aya Hirano

I think she contributed to the ED albums of the anime Zettai Karen Children along with the other seiyus under the pseudonym, THE CHILDREN. You may want to add those in.

On the surface, nothing except a difference in language used. On the other hand, Seiyuu has through colloquial use has developed a life of its own, just like Anime vs Animation, and should be included in its own in the lexicon when referring to Japanese voice talent. Illness

Not that it requires much explaining, but she has a benign tumor inside her head she's been carrying since her early teens, and that's the major impact on her career as of 2011. No psychological crack-up, attempted suicide, or any descent into madness; just a combination of the usual Japanese workaholic mindset and a tumor she can't get operated on unless she's prepared to end her career bringing her down after 10 good years. I've put in the discography from her website and also from Oricon, however, there are a bunch of singles and albums where she was working in collaboration with other singers, especially for Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star, and Zettai Karen Children (The Children). These particular ones are not listed in her discography. Should those be considered for Hirano's page, or relegated to just those articles dealing with the soundtrack? - Regarding her singles (from the "Music career" subsection): I believe the release date that was provided for almost each single is not the correct one. -> For example, from my understanding after reading the information from the links, the single "Love Gun" was released on October 10, 2007, not on October 22, 2007, the single "Neophilia" was released on November 7, 2007, not on November 19, 2007, the single "MonStAR" was released on December 5, 2007, not on December 17, 2007, and so on. I believe there was a misunderstanding due to the two dates from those links and also that the second one is the release date.

I apologise for the delay. Thank you for addressing the comments from above. I have fixed the few remaining ones by myself. Furthermore, I placed the remaining reference from the lead section in the body of the article as well (while I had initially said that this reference could be kept in the lead section, I thought about this once again and came to the conclusion that it is best if there are no references in the lead since all details from there should also be present in the body of the article). Regarding the archived links, this is not listed as one of the requirements for bringing an article to GA status, so it was a suggestion; however, the links should still be archived in order to make sure the information that appears in the article is preserved. Voice acting and television appearances

I've ran into this issue before on Yukika Teramoto, Mamoru Miyano, and Ryunosuke Kamiki, but Aya Hirano has also made television appearances as a regular on variety shows and in live-action dramas. This article in particular states that she played one of the characters in the drama Muse no Kagami.
