[edit] Untitled

IMDB lists this as a Australian/Armenian joint production. Is that correct? Strange as the rest of the show if it is. Rmhermen 15:57, 29 Jul 2003 (UTC)

I thought this was live action featuring characters in suits rather than animated. Confirm/deny? - Lee M 00:55, 4 Sep 2003 (UTC)
Yes, it is live action, except for the opening sequence, which is an animation.

[edit] bananas in pyamas!

this is a great AUSTRALIAN! show, all aussie infact, no over powering americans can take credit for this show! i used to watch it as a child, still do! its great fun to watch, and those lyrics, man i love em! the opening is animated but the rest is live action, it wasnt always like that, in my childhood it was all animated, or was it? cant really remmeber that well!

Uhm... ok. So what is your objection then? --Scotteh 13:44, 26 July 2006 (UTC) hehe

[edit] wow

i didn't know that it was still running.

T'aint anymore. It was canceled in 2000. What I'm more surprised is that it went for 8 years. I think I watched maybe 1 show of it when I was little, and got sick of it. Kevin 00:59, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
I still see episodes on the ABC with copyright dates > 2000. ajdlinux | user page | talk | contrib 05:05, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Seconded. Just saw one on YouTube copyrighted 2001. - David Gerard (talk) 23:10, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] lyrics

is there any copyright issue over the posting of the lyrics to the opening theme? LordRobert 09:04, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Caption?

Is the photo caption 'bum1 and bum2' vandalism? I haven't seen the show but it seems a bit strange. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevebeck (talkcontribs) 03:52, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes it is, I've reverted. Good catch. Equazcion /C 04:12, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lulu's accent

Yes, but where's Lulu's accent supposed to be from? We need to know! - David Gerard (talk) 23:10, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bananas in Pyjamas on Play School

I can remember Bananas in Pyjamas appearing on Play School (Australia) and I think it was long before they had their own show... can anyone verify? It wasn't as B1 or B2, but just as an anonymous Banana in Pyjamas doll. But the themesong already existed, and the presenters sang it as one of them held the doll. AHA! See

http://www.pluslicens.se/index.php/site/characters_details/bananas_in_pyjamas_characters/ The concept of the Bananas in Pyjamas series came from a song of the same name, composed by Carey Blyton (nephew of Enid Blyton). The catchy tune became a huge hit with Australian audiences on the program Play School, and an animated piece was produced to accompany it. T-shirts featuring Bananas in Pyjamas soon outsold other characters by at least 10 to 1. In July 1992, they got their own TV show...

http://www.abc.net.au/children/bananas/about/ Bananas in Pyjamas is a delightful Australian pre-school TV series produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for 0-5 year olds with a theme song of the same name written by Carey Blyton in 1967 and published in the form of a book entitled 'A Book of Nonsense'. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation adopted the song for the children's pre-school program 'Play School'. The song and subsequent animation were so popular it was decided to create 'Bananas In Pyjamas' the television program.

That's a start... Andrewa (talk) 15:55, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Episode List

Just an idea, do any editors feel it would be a good idea/would be intrested in compiling a list of episodes, maybe even with a breif plot outline? If intrested, leave a note here or on my talk page. I'll see if I get a good enough response and take it from there... Acather96 (talk) 17:25, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Earnings and Royalties Controversy

I was under the impression the multi-million dollar earnings from Bananas in Pyjamas merchandise was mostly earned by commercial enterprises. This after the show was instigated by ABC government funded start up- or was it? This is an aspect of debate between the promoters of free enterprise and defenders of government subsidies that needs facts and figures to clarify. No doubt USA folks will defend the commercial aspect of the question. Australia has a long history of losing profits from successful enterprise to other countries.
