"Later in the season, Barb is shown struggling with her possible excommunication from the church and turns to her mother and sister for their help in sponsoring her in a sacrament ceremony." That is not correct. In that episode she was trying to go to a temple for an endowment, not sacrament. She asked her mother and sister if one of them would loan her their recommend to enter the temple.
