Pronunciation of 'Bataan'[edit]

My high school English teacher (1954, a long time ago) was on the Bataan Death March. Fortunately he survived it to teach me.

But he pronounced 'Bataan' with a glottal stop: "Bata'an", which he stated to me on several occasions was correct. And I always thought that, having been through all that, he must have been right.

Do we have any independent information about this? If he was right, then there should be some information about how to pronounce this name in the article (an Ogg_Vorbis, or an IPA entry). If not, then "nevermind". Bill Jefferys (talk) 03:06, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I grew up in Bataan and your teacher is right with her/his pronunciation :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Monmon298 (talkcontribs) 07:57, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
