[edit] Opening Comments

The date is off, most likely by a year - January 2 1944 is before the invasion of Normandy.

The first sentence of the second paragraph appears to be misplaced/doesn't flow with the rest of the paragraph. It's not clear what the "however" in the 2nd sentence is contradicting in the first sentence, and from it one assumes that the first sentence is supposed to be something like "The allies didn't think Aachen was important and thus didn't want to invade it." Perhaps the article could be included in the Aachen article and this story could be about the Medal of Honor winner. Tswold (talk) 14:14, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

The battle is seperate from Aachen, and is a notable one in regards to the campaign and the unit history. The seperate article is just fine IMO. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.73.120.68 (talk) 07:13, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

The reference to Operation Market Garden is factualy untrue, the operation was not linked to opening up Antwerp - in fact Montgomery was critercised for not doing this and trying to break through to the Rhur. See Montgomery page for more details on this. Kiern Moran —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.10.7.195 (talk) 10:33, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Gerhard Wilck a General or Colonel?

This article lists Wilck as a general; the Wikipedia article on Wilck lists him as a colonel. Perhaps he was a colonel at the time and promoted to general later? Catherinejarvis (talk) 00:12, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
