Untitled[edit]

This article seems to have a number of issues, which may be the result of typographical errors, or of misreadings. An initial reading of it reveals the following (in no particular order): There was no XVIIIth International Brigade, either at the Jarama or subsequently. Historians recognise five in all, numbered consecutively from XI to XV, with some other formations never existing for long enough to be included in the official order of battle (that said, I have never heard of an 18th International Brigade existing in any form.) The British Battalion was part of the XVth International Brigade (as the song quoted in the article states) and not as the body of the article says. The idea that any of the International Brigades were armoured formations, or even had armoured elements, is not borne out in any of the sources. It is also not in keeping with the doctirne prevailing at the time and any co-operation that did take place betwen armoured units and the Brigades was on a battle by battle basis and not, as the article suggests, a result of the units being integrated armoured formations (as such things did not actually exist in the Popular Army of the Second Spanish Republic at this or, to my knowledge, at any other time. These are just those errors that I have noticed after a relatively cursory reading of this piece. I am not sure how they could have arisen, given that the sources quoted are those from which I would have drwan much of my information, and do not contain the errors of which the article is guilty. I am not familiar enough with the system or technology of Wikipedia to, I feel, get as fully involved in the correction of errors such as those that I have highlighted above. Perhaps somone more "au fait" with such things could edit this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.246.111 (talk) 06:06, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
