Cost[edit]

I don't know enough about Behringer to edit, but surely the success of the company is that it produces stuff that is (in comparison) amazingly cheap? Joe-Kingsley-Orton (talk) 05:00, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

POV[edit]

Adding a section on Synthesizers / Drum Machines[edit]

I am surprised that there is no mention of Behringer making synthesizers and drum machines since 2016. Someone had added section about the Deepmind synthesizers before, but it got reverted, because it didn't have source. I then added a section regarding the synth clones and this same editor user:Scottywong reverted it, saying my sources were not reliable and got my account banned. Even tough, I used Future Music, one of the biggest publications for synthesizers. I was able to sort it out and unban my account. I have no COI with Behringer, I am just a musician/hobbyist that feels this is such an important development that deserves its section. Please post your support or objection regarding adding the below section. I feel there are people out there against having this, because they are analog purist who are not happy with the Behringer's cheaper clones or competitors, so if you are against adding this you better have a very good reason.

Proposed section to be added:
Since 2016, Behringer has become a manufacturer of synthesizers and drum machines, which includes original synths, but also many clones of old classic synthesizers.[1]
In 2016, they released their first comercial synths the Deepmind 12 and Deepmind 6. Shortly after they followed by the Deepmind 12D which was a desktop alternative to the Deepmind synths. The design of the Deepmind was inspired by the Roland Juno-106. [2][3]
Their second original synth was the Neutron and their third was Behringer Crave, released in 2019. The Crave is an original semi-modular synthesizer based on the Roland TB-303.[4]
Since 2018, Behringer has announced and produced a number of analog synthesizer and drum machine clones which have included Roland TB-303, Korg Monopoly, Arp 2600,[5] Roland TR-808/TR-909, Minimoog and Sequential Prohpet-600.[6][7][8][9][10][11][12]
Behringer is known for releasing their synthesizers at budget prices.[4][13]

Having this info in the article would be good but gearnews.com and electronicbeats.net probably aren't reliable sources for Wikipedia. You can find a list of reliable sources at WP:RSINSTRUMENT, so if you could find the information on one of those sites instead that would be good. If you think gearnews.com and electronicbeats.com are reliable, you could post them at WP:ALBUMS or WP:RSN and ask other editors to check, who will know better than me. Not being on that list doesn't necessary mean they are not reliable. Electronic Beats actually has its own Wiki page, so that would mean it is reliable. Future Music is not on that list, so whoever made that list didn't do a good job. As we all know it is one of the biggest synth magazines sold on the news stands. The parent company also has a Wiki page under Future pls. However, you will also note that I have used several sources, so even removing Gearnews, we are still good. Having a wikipage absolutely does not bestow reliability. See Daily Mail, for instance. You should also check out Wikipedia:List of unreliable sources and view RELIABLE SOURCE GUIDELINES. GenQuest "scribble" 10:29, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Jaxarnolds, the list at WP:RSINSTRUMENT is far from exhaustive. It would be great to expand it. If you have sources you think would be good additions, check they meet the criteria at WP:RELIABLE, and then start a discussion at WP:ALBUMS to see if we can add it to the list. Just to note: The Behringer Crave is not based on the TB303 (And does not share it's functionality, either). It is a direct clone of the Moog Mother 32, it's functionality down to every single patchpoint and their locations are identical.

"Cork Sniffer"[edit]

A "Cork Sniffer" is a wine tester, we now know. One may find fault with Behringer's "Chinese" business practices, accuse them of "plagiarism", one thing is certain, they offer affordable prices for devices that would be unaffordable without them. What is downright hysterically absurd, however, is to infer something "anti-Semitic" from this Pinocchio nose on his fake synthesizer, which is apparently meant to represent a "less than honest person." Unmistakable symptom of the "postmodern outrage and excitement society". Nazism famously defined the Jewish nose as corresponding to "the shape of a 6". Hey @Ayzkao. I've noticed that newer product use a different version of the logo including only the name. It seems that is the new logo (also displayed on the website).

Interesting. However, the company still using that logo till today. I'm not sure about new product though, but I guarantee the logo still like that.

Yes, older product lines use the yellow triangle. Newer products only have the text logo. I'd suggest checking what the new releases use as logo and go with that to keep the page updated. TanookiKoopa (talk) 11:13, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
