Untitled[edit]

This page seems to be in the need of more sources. From the look of things, it seems to rely on only 2 entries. Also the article seems to lack any sort of citation in it's content. I would amend that asap as it goes against Wikipedia's guidelines that any claim needs to be cited. The writing also seems to not follow any structure and is rather one single paragraph broken up into sections. Each section needs to be able to read independently, so I would also suggest a rewriting of the content in a more reader-friendly manner.Rickitpower (talk) 20:46, 2 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Overview Starting off I think the overview of Belbello should be a bit longer and just for clarity I added the title “Overview” to where one should be. I think you could add a little bit to this about his mentors that are included later on and possibly which work he was most famous for.

Information To add some information to the “Discovery of the Artist” I would suggest adding some information to what exactly a miniaturist is, who Michelino Molinari da Besozzo is, and what “Lombardy” artists are. I know they are linked to pages where it is explained, but it is nice to have a brief summary of what each of these are so readers can follow the article more easily.

For “Early” and “Later” works I would first consider combining them so it is just one longer section. I would also try to do research as to where the works you mention are now because that is usually easy to find and would add information to the paragraph. I would also try to find some more dates because I’m not sure how you know how some are early versus late works without any dates.

Additional Notes I think your article is overall a good start because it reads like an encyclopedia and is not objective at all which is exactly what a wikipedia article needs to be. In general I would try to find more information if possible because it still is a little short, but I understand how it’s hard to find information because mine is pretty short as well. I’d also add some pictures if possible because that always adds something to the article. Your writing style is great so I would just try to focus on adding information and elaborating on information you have. --Drydenq (talk) 20:25, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Evelyn's peer review[edit]

overview: The lead paragraph is easy to understand and summarize the Belbello da Pavia's important life events and main artworks, which are critical for a wikipedia article. However, the use of words such as "sometime between" shows a sense of uncertainty, which is not suitable for a encyclopedia. Also, you could link Gianlucido Gonzaga to another Wikipedia article about Gonzaga family, which I also did some research about, a powerful noble family in Italy at that time.

Artworks In general, there is a balanced coverage on his artworks during different time period. To add more information to the article, I would elaborate more on his change of style and artists who influenced him overtime instead of focusing only on his compositions. I would recommend to integrate "style" and "artworks" together as they are closely related. Uploading more images might be a good idea, as the readers can trace the change of his style easily. Instead of putting all the pictures under "Gallery", I would put them between the paragraphs, where readers can always refer back to after reading the analysis of each painting.

Additional notes A neutral content without subjective comments on the artists. Reliable resources are used however the article generally lacks of citation. Additionally, it will be great if you could keep putting more information to the article to enrich the content. It's on a good track!
