This is a bit more developed than a mere stub. I rate it start class.Libertyguy 05:43, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Promotion[edit]

This article clearly violates the Wiki policy on biographies of living persons. The tone is laudatory rather than neutral and the bio subject only barely warrants a page. Assuming the article can be purged of blatant self-promotion, I won't move for its deletion. But using one's Wiki page as a resume, complete with "media appearances," steps over the line. 219.79.84.106 03:48, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

---> I did not have anything to do with this entry being created and have not been editing it. I assume that whoever started the entry copied information from materials that are available online elsewhere. Please don't jump to (false) conclusions. Thank you - Ben

A page on Ben Manski is absolutely appropriate for Wikipedia. The only shortcomings of this article are related to incompleteness and lack of information in some areas. Manski is the manager for the Green Party presidential campaign of Jill Stein --- one of only two progressive and viable presidential campaigns in the US for 2012. We need to know as much as possible about Manski. More, not less. ---Dagme (talk) 17:07, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, but your note above mentions "correcting the record," so the conclusion that you'd edited the page as your personal resume was a reasonable one. In any case, although the tone is still borderline for a living subject, I can live with it as is. But please: whoever is injecting material like "media appearances" and other information designed primarily to promote Manksi's public persona and commercial/political viability, there are better places than Wiki for this. (Moreover, from what I know about Greens in Wisconsin, there's a lot of sensitivity about how individual leaders use their time in the spotlight. You're probably not helping Manski or the Greens much by dressing up his Wiki page Burson-Marsteller style.) 219.79.93.254 (talk) 03:37, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Running for Political Office[edit]

Should it be mentioned that he is a candidate for the Wisconsin legislature? http://www.wispolitics.com/index.Iml?Article=202781

Role in the Greens[edit]

I was an active Green for many years and I remember Ben Manski. However, I don't have a clear memory of what role he played in the Greens among the various tendencies, factions, discussions, and disputes. I went to this article to try to find that information and it is simply not there. I think this kind of information is essential for an article like this. ---Dagme (talk) 02:12, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Ben Study the political action committee page[edit]

Ruling of January 31 2012 is vital. file suits and protests to election committees that superPACs and their donations are illegal. Reasonable person/bystander test ... i.e. walks like a duck quacks like a duck and all thatPbmaise (talk) 18:39, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Maternal grandmother[edit]

The "Early life" section contains an unreferenced (the reference listed contains none of this information) line: 'Manski was influenced by the lifelong civil rights activism of his maternal grandmother'. A major influence like this needs a name. What was the name of Manski's grandmother, and what role did she play in civil rights activism? Seems to be a very important person in his life. It's important to give credit, and to allow her remembrance to go beyond "grandmother" - her family-relationship to Manski himself. Randy Kryn 23:49 1 July 2014 (UTC)
