Earlier unsigned item[edit]

I removed the following sentence:

Although his thesis in "Imagined Communities" depends upon his work on Latin America, Anderson admits his inability to read Spanish (see "Imagined Communities").

This is inaccurate. In the Preface to the Second Edition he says that while he could not read Spanish in the first edition, he has learned the language since, which has led to some changes in the book (pp. xii-xiii). See also pp. 26-27 for a long passage which he translated from Spanish.

Indonesia section to expand[edit]

The work of Anderson on Indonesia is vital to understand his work - it needs to be included in article like this SatuSuro 13:39, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tag about lack of sources on Imagined Community section[edit]

This tag is inappropriate. If the link to Imagined Communities is followed, it is clear that this is a book title, a very famous book, and the 1991 edition is clearly cited. It is also mentioned in the first paragraph of this entry. Are additional sources really needed? Dewobroto (talk) 05:38, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Dewobroto: the tag is inappropriate. This section summarises Anderson's most important work. Having just read it, I would say the section does so brilliantly wshile locating it in relation to other important authors. Therefore I am now going to remove the tag. "Chinese emigrants to the United States"?[edit]

The category tag is nonsense. Born to Anglo-Irish and English parents, he lived the first 4 years of his life in China. That's all, it doesn't make him Chinese. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.107.115.106 (talk) 21:06, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
